Requirements

• Matric / equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Basic literacy with the ability to read and write.

ROLE SUMMARY

To perform basic maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment and other small jobs that may be required from time to time.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The duties of the post include but are not limited to the following, and are carried out in accordance with Netcare’s Policies and Procedures.

• Ensure job plans & maintenance schedules are carried out.
• Ensure job cards for allocated maintenance are completed.
• Identify preventative maintenance opportunities.
• Investigate faults & carry out the required maintenance.
• Report / escalate faults to the Supervisor.
• Ensure that maintenance performed is according to the required Health & Safety Standards.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures & legislation in line with corporate governance.
• Performing unsupervised basic maintenance of Hospital facilities and equipment.


KNOWLEDGE

• Familiar with safe workshop practise.
• Basic understanding of OHS act.
• Basic skills with general tools found in the facility.
• Must ensure that systems are implemented to proactively prevent errors from occurring.
• Good mechanical and basic electrical experience.
• Plumbing experience will be advantageous.
