Requirements

Minimum of Grade 10 or NQF Level 2 with 2 –3 years’ experience in food industry. 

Knowledge of hygiene and safety procedures and processes. 

Good verbal and written communication skills. 

Time management, interpersonal skills and basic numeracy. 

Appropriate knowledge of food and food preparation. 

Awareness of Batho Pele Principles, should be able to work shifts and public holidays. 

Experience in food service sector will be an advantage.

Duties

Ensure proper and effective catering service. 

Maintain and control catering equipment, and ensure that breakages are reported immediately. Perform daily cleaning tasks – routine in nature (clean, dust, sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors). Assist with preparation of functions. 

Lifting of heavy food equipment and pushing of trolleys. 

Applying hygiene and safety measures in the area of work according to Hygiene and Safety manual and planned work schedules. 

Be willing to undergo continuous training and development programs. 

Be responsible for all allocated resources to your section. 

Adhere to all foodservice policies and procedures.
