Driver vacancy - Sasol


ABOUT THE ROLE/ PURPOSE OF THE JOB

A driver is responsible for the safe transportation of plant equipment and personnel.

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

Know and correctly use the safety equipment on the vehicle, following correct safety procedures
Correct use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Check to ensure vehicle is constantly in a road worthy condition and record/ report defects according to K guidelines
Perform daily vehicle pre-trip inspection according to a standard checklist and report defects
First line vehicle maintenance, e.g. refuelling, tyres pressure, oil level top up, tyre change/ wheel nut torque, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENT

In addition to a pre-employment medical examination, some positions may require a physical fitness assessment as part of the normal selection criteria.

Qualifications:

Matric/Grade 12 or N3
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must have a Code 10 (C1) Driver’s License with Valid PDP
Forklift License (Wish)
Knowledge of road signs and regulations

Experience:

1 – 2 years’ experience as driver

Assist natural work team in daily activities

Identify unsafe conditions and take precautionary measures
Report unsafe conditions/ situations
Report any deviations from schedule, sample availability
Report all defects
