Metropolitan - Switchboard /Receptionist vacancy


ROLE PURPOSE

To receive large volumes of calls through an automated switchboard and to route them to the relevant business areas effectively and timeously in a professional manner.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORK OUTPUTS

Answers a high volume of calls and maintain a rapid response rate according to agreed standards
Screens calls and directs them appropriately
Assists callers with general queries
Relay messages where required via e-mail or in-person
Admin Talks (eg. updates telephone and address book)
Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable
Receive, sort and arrange delivery of mail delivered at the reception area

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Team Player
Communication on all levels
Adhere to internal Admin processes (i.e. Time allocation per task etc.)
Professional approach
Good listener

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Matric
2-3 years experience in a similar role will be beneficial
