Apprenticeship at Jaguar Land Rover


Jaguar Land Rover is offering young enthusiastic learners an opportunity to lead their career into excellence. Learn the skills and trade required in order to accurately undertake the repair and servicing of motor vehicles, diagnosing additional faults and ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest standard and to customer satisfaction.

Description of the Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship

Completes training and development activity to develop required knowledge and skills

Works under the supervision of a Technician or Senior Technician to complete work orders and key tasks, ensuring that repair orders are carried out correctly and efficiently and to the satisfaction of the customer and according to JLR standards
Develops skills and keeps up to date with latest technology and service information
Completes Learning Log regularly
Locates and uses technical information provided by the manufacturer (using the TOPix system)
Uses feedback to improve own skills and performance

Supports day to day workshop operations (working under supervision)

Completes work orders including details of repairs completed, parts required and labour to be charged
Ensures any faults have been reported and noted on job cards
Ensures vehicles are protected and kept clean during service and repair, in accordance with quality specifications
Ensures vehicle safety standards have been complied with when returned to customers
Maintains tools and equipment and check the calibration and general condition of workshop equipment in line with company policy
Ensures all work completed is to manufacturer’s safety standards
Tests vehicles and provides diagnostic reports to the Workshop Controller
Conducts routine service work on vehicles brought into the workshop
Performs technical repair work in accordance with documented procedures
Disposes of waste in accordance with regulations
Records all hours and material usage accurately
Cleans vehicle and machine interiors, exteriors, engines and engine components


Works as a key member of the Dealership Team

Demonstrates the JLR Customer First Behaviours in all interactions with customers and colleagues
Ensures exceptional service standards are met and that customer’s expectations are exceeded
Demonstrates professionalism at all times and represents the Dealership at brand events
Supports the Workshop Controller and team to meet objectives
Liaises with colleagues from the Service and Parts departments to identify and order required parts
Maintains a professional manner and high standards of personal presentation at all times, ensuring that work area and protective clothing is kept clean, tidy and in a safe condition in order to uphold JLR and dealer standards
Adheres to legal, environmental and health and safety requirements whilst ensuring the safety and security of people, vehicles and property at all times, reporting any known faults or hazards

Requirements

South African Citizen
Matric / N2 with English, Mathematics & Science
Must have a 50% pass rate
Must be 18 – 22 years of age
