Waste Operator Opportunities at Necsa

NTP Radioisotopes seeks to appoint 5 Waste Operators within the ​Nuclear Waste department. The incumbents will assist with NTP’s Waste Operations.

NTP is a state-owned company subsidiary of the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa), located in Pelindaba near Pretoria. The company is a world class leader in production and exporting of medical products using nuclear technology, and has footprints in over 60 countries.

Key Performance Areas

Perform nuclear waste operations activities;
Hands-on experience in emptying and loading of waste and in-cell waste segregation processes;
Troubleshooting;
Compliance with nuclear and regulatory requirements specifications;
Optimal use of relevant resources; and
Adherence to NTP’s health, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 / Matric
Preferably minimum of two (2) years working experience in a production environment
Have knowledge about product processes

Requirements

Must be medically fit to be able to qualify as a radiation worker and work in a radiological area
Must be capable of working under limited supervision
Must be willing to work extra hours
Must have a valid driver’s license (to drive a truck), have driven a forklift before and own transport preferably
Must be able to function in a team
Willingness to take on additional responsibilities
