Requirements
Grade 12 Certificate with PSIRA Grade A / NIA course/ National Certificate in Security Risk Management. 1 year appropriate experience in security services environment.
COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of GPG and DID policies and procedures.
Prescribed security procedures e.g. MIS, NISA, Protection of information Act, etc.) and the authority of security officers under these documents.
Knowledge of Access control procedures and measures for the control, movement of equipment and stores.
SKILLS-
Communication, Ability to use and distinguish between basic hand tools.
Ability to operate machinery.
Ability to perform routine tasks.
Duties
Duties
Determine whether visitors have appointments/or the service that the visitor requires.
Contact the relevant employee to confirm the appointment or refer the visitor to the relevant service delivery point.
Complete or ensure that the admission control register is completed and issue admission control documents/cards as required.
Escort visitors to relevant employees/venues where required.
Operate X-Ray machines where applicable. Lock and unlock entrances.
Follow up on incidents.
Undertake building/premises patrols to identify and check that doors are locked or unlocked as required; water leaks and that taps are closed. Ensure that fire hazards, exposed electrical contacts and other fire hazards emanating from for instance chemicals , lights, switch on or off as required and apply emergency procedures (in situations like bomb scares, riots etc) and alert emergency services and departmental management.
Inspect vehicles entering and leaving the premises.
Gather information and report on missing and stolen equipment and stores.
Ensure all incidents are recorded in the occurrence books/registers.
Control movement of Personnel, Visitors, and assets on premises. Monitor CCTV cameras
