Sasol - Maintenance Operator: Welding x 3

Purpose of the job/Role Intent:

To assist Artisans when performing Welding, Boiler making and In-line inspection (PIG) activities.

Required outputs: Functional

Adhere to all Satellite Operations Safety Policies, Rules and Procedures
Working knowledge of basic welding and Boiler making
Assist Artisans with mechanical work, pigging, welding and boiler making
Driving of trucks and LDV
Driving forklift
Operate Overhead Crane
Operating a truck mounted crane
Cleaning of vehicles, tools, equipment and workshop
Vehicle inspection and reporting
Assist Artisan with pipeline inspections and repairs
Be available in pigging projects when required
Assist with electro fusion on HDPE (plastic piping)
Be available to perform standby duties
Do site inspections/ site specific risk assessments


Qualifications and expertise required

Grade 12 with Mathematics & Physical Science or N3 Maths & Engineering Science (must)
NQF Level 2 Occupational trade qualification
Valid code 10 or 14 driver’s license (must)
PrPD licence (wish)
Knowledge of Safety
The use of hand tools
Housekeeping
Computer literacy
